20. Women’s and girls’ safety, plus boys’

@WomenSafety_UK … @officialsammyuk … @SamanthaTaghoy … @RupertLowe10

What these and many others now are doing is great … ending rape gangs, women unsafe, justice … good but you also need to educate girls not to go near known bad demographics for girls. šŸ‘‡šŸ»Plus for boys … I was abused multiple times as a boy.

It’s all very well saying ā€œThat judge must be moronā€ but the US has indeed made a moron into a SCOTUS Justice. When allied with the semi-moron and the Dem hack woman, they provide a steady three votes for any decision likely to harm the USA.

The ā€œDem hack womanā€ is the subject of this:

Iraq (Blair), Libya (Cameron), Ukraine (Johnson). We’re up to our necks in it. The new head of our Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) is the granddaughter of Constantine Dobrowolski, a long deceased Ukrainian soldier who served with the SS during WW2. She goes by the name of Blaise Metreweli but that is the surname of her mother’s second husband David, a Georgian. Her father’s surname was Dobrowolski however he later changed it to that of his stepfather. She’s a strange choice indeed. Stranger still is UK foreign policy in Eurasia since the reign of Queen Victoria.

Early Tuba Skinny

From the clarinetist in the first … to the mayhem in the second in which Shaye goes all clucky … to the unbridled energy in the last … this is early Tuba Skinny in a spirit of long-before-Covid fun … cunning plan is these now, two more next week, with a third from another band yet to be decided.

11. TPA newsletter (paragraph from)

“So why is the health service so inefficient? In large part it’s due to the NHS spending balance. Capital spending, the money used for investments long term, is often raided to pay for day-to-day spending needs. In most cases, this is bailing out trusts in debt or hiring more staff. While this is good for headlines, it is not the best way to improve productivity.”

6. From Michael Schiavo, Traffic Court judge, NYS

… on Quora today:

ā€œIn George Martin’s memoir, All You Need Is Ears, he said this about his first meeting with The Beatles:

ā€œI remember George Harrison being the most talkative at that first meeting, and Pete Best not saying a word throughout that whole afternoon. But he did have the advantage of being the handsomest of the group. His drumming, on the other hand, was not good. At the end of the test (the audition), I took Brian (Epstein) to one side and said, ā€˜I don’t know what you’re going to do with the group as such, but this drumming isn’t good enough for what I want. It isn’t regular enough. It doesn’t give the right kind of sound. If we do make a record, I’d much prefer to have my own drummer — which won’t make any difference to you, because no one will know who’s on the record anyway.’ What I didn’t realize at the time was that the group already wanted Pete Best out and Ringo Starr in, and that my remarks were something in the nature of a last straw.ā€

The accounts I’ve read describe Best as a drummer of very limited skills who had trouble with basic tasks like keeping a steady beat. It sounds to me like the decision to remove Best was the right thing to do.ā€

In my own lil ole way, I too was dumped as a drummer as essentially lacking sparkle, vision, though as the keeper of the kit, they had to come to my place for rehearsals. I was 14 at that time. In retrospect, they were quite right to drop me. Our repertoire included Wild Thing, Gloria, Little Red Riding Hood, She Loves You Yeah Yeah Yeah, Wooly Bully. We were called The Other Side.

Sunday [1 to 5]

18. A good read from Rolf

HERE

ā€œAs last week the PM was absent, leaving the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) to mind the shop.

Sir Keir was rubbing shoulders with other NATO leaders at the Hague. He took this opportunity to advertise the procurement of a dozen American jets adapted to carry nuclear weapons. Under what circumstances would such weapons be launched from an F-35 fighter? Perhaps the Ukraine’s President Zelensky clarified that when he met Starmer in London ahead of the summit.ā€
